What is Pilates?
Our Pilates classes uses the STOTT PILATES® method, which is a contemporary and progressive approach to Pilates. Stott Pilates put a ton of focus on proper biomechanics. (WTH are biomechanics and why do I need them?) Focusing on biomechanics is a way to get your body to move and function the way it is supposed to, instead of how our lifestyles and bad patterns change those movements causing injury, soreness and tightness. Stott Pilates focuses on maintaining, or regaining, an ideal postural alignment. Need more info? Find it here. For reformer
What is Velo Ride?
VELO RIDE IS A HEART PUMPING SPIN WORKOUT THAT’S SCALABLE TO YOUR ABILITY AND FITNESS LEVEL.
Whether you are a first timer on a bike or a seasoned triathlete, Velo will rock your world. The experience is formatted around an awesome playlist choreographed to a workout that will likely include a series of climbs, flats, sprints, hovers, and downhills. But, its not your average spin class. Velo Ride will lift you up and help you dig into your inner strength. For some classes, Velo Ride + Sweat, we also get you off the bike for circuit and core work. That piece may be in the beginning, middle or end, but one thing is for sure, it’s never the same workout. Free intro class every Wednesday at 6:15. All clients receive one free intro to Velo Ride class.
What should I wear?
Most people are more comfortable in leggings or spandex for the bottoms, but it is certainly not required. Some people prefer to even wear bike shorts to prevent any chaffing from the seats. However, our Velo Ride seats are much more cushy than any bike seat you’ve been on. For tops, tight or loose fitting is fine, whatever you feel more comfortable in. It gets hot really quick in here so layers work well. Good athletic socks to soak up the sweat help. For shoes, you will be fine in sneakers or bike shoes. Our pedals have both Shimano SPD clips and toe straps, so some people choose to bring their own bike shoes for a more secure and stable fit. We do not provide shoes at this time.
PILATES, YOGA and BARRE
Workout clothes of your choice. Most people go barefoot, but some people prefer sticky socks because they get sweaty feet. Your choice!
Workout clothes of your choice. Barefoot or sneaks are both fine here. Totally preference on both. Talk to the instructor about certain foot/ ankle limitations if you are unsure.
What should I bring?
Water. Drink up buttercup, before, during and after. It’s hot and sweaty in all the right ways. We provide towels and 4 giant fans to keep you cool. If you tend to get really hot, or are just starting out in your cardio training, sit by the fans for most air circulation. Towels provided.
PILATES, BARRE and TRX
Water bottle, drinking fountain available for refills. Mats provided, or you can bring your own. Towels provided.
Your favorite mat and water. Because it gets hot up in here, (that is, if you’ve signed up for a Yoga + Heat class.) If you forget your mat, don’t worry, we have extras hanging on the wall. Towels provided.
