WHAT IS PILATES?
Our Pilates classes uses the STOTT PILATES® method, which is a contemporary and progressive approach to Pilates. Stott Pilates put a ton of focus on proper biomechanics. If you’re asking yourself, “WTF are biomechanics and why do I need them?” you’re in the right place. Focusing on biomechanics is a way to get your body to move and function the way it is supposed to, instead of how our lifestyles and bad patterns change those movements causing injury, soreness and tightness. Stott Pilates focuses on maintaining, or regaining, an ideal postural alignment.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR AND BRING?
Most people are comfortable in our classes with leggings and a form-fitted top, but ultimately your comfort is the most important element. Be sure to read our individual class descriptions for any additional items you may need like a mat, athletic shoes, barre socks, etc. Other than that, we know you’re busy so we make sure to provide the rest. We have complimentary filtered water fill-up station, sweat towels, lockers, showers, drying towels, shampoos, conditioners, cleansing oils, moisturizers, misters, hair dryers, styling products, and more!
WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?
Maven STRONG is located at Suite 200 on the second level of the Maven District at 155 East 900 South in Salt Lake City, Utah.
If you’re looking to eat, sip, relax, learn, and shop, the building is also home to more than 25 small local businesses, including whose goods and services range from beauty salons to custom suit-makers, desserts, nutritionists, and more.
WHERE CAN I PARK?
Street parking is available out front on 900 South or on Edison Street. Covered parking is available behind the building. Uncovered overflow parking is behind H&R Block off 200 East.
For any first-timers, welcome! Please start with our orientations to familiarize yourself with Pilates, the Reformer machine, our bikes, and more so that your first workout will deliver the goods instead of causing confusion. All of our orientations are 100% free to attend, but they are a prerequisite for any related class.
CAN I DROP-IN FOR CLASS?
Due to limited equipment and group sizes you will likely want to reserve your space online. Please pre-register to reserve your spot prior to arrival by creating an account here, finding Maven STRONG on the Mindbody app or shoot us an email or call us for help. Your First Class is $10 and we encourage you to start with our free one-on-one Find Your Formula consultation to take the guesswork out of how to make our studio work specifically for you! New Clients are also eligible for our Newbie Package, which includes 1 FREE private session with just you and one of our instructors, and a month of UNLIMITED group classes!
HOW DO I CHECK-IN FOR CLASS?
If you have reserved a class or need to sign up and pay as a drop-in, please see our Maven at the front desk to handle everything. Please let us know if you are new to our studio so we can give you the VIP treatment to ensure you’re comfortable in a new space. Please also tell your instructor about any current or historical injuries. Depending on the class, modifications may or may not be available, but don’t worry, we have rehabilitative private instruction to help with that.
CANCELLATION + MISSED CLASSES
We’re all adults. If you are going to miss a class, try to let us know as soon as possible, ideally 12 hours works best, but ultimately things happen and we get it. Just don’t make it a habit, mmk? Because then we have to bring down the hammer and we hate doing that.
If you need to pause your membership, you may do so for a 30 day period once a year. If you need to cancel your membership, we’ll need written notice 30 days prior to your next renewal before cancellation can be applied. No exceptions.
